Some people book a reading for a lark, purely out of curiosity, and I have those clients in my practice, but the larger part of my clientele are people reaching out when they are going through some difficult period in their life. It could be their first Saturn return around ages 27 to 30, a partnership difficulty due to a Saturn and Progressed Moon transit, a job loss due to a Uranus transit wanting to free them from a job that ultimately they didn’t love but hung onto for security, or a Chiron return around the age of 49 to 51. Sometimes a major Plutonian transit in their chart crops up and they are having a difficult time releasing their grip on something that ultimately they may need to surrender, so that something better can be ushered in.
I’m not a psychological counselor and I do recommend professional counseling to people when I know their need is far beyond what my consultations can offer them. But for many, a “reading” helps to resolve, or at the very least, aid the client in dealing with stressful, confusing or painful conditions. It helps them recognize that the difficult period will end once the transit is over.
Consultations have the ability to help us reclaim lost parts of ourselves and help us to feel more complete and happier. Sometimes we get confirmation that what we’ve been feeling was right on but we just needed that extra nudge to go with our intuition, especially when those closest to us tell us we’re crazy. Sometimes those crazy and exciting “aha’s” really pay off! If we’ve been so stressed we can’t think straight, stay focused or sleep, we can get a reboot, kinda like a B-12 shot helping us overcome fatigue and allowing us back in the game. Or maybe it’s a herbal sedative, so we sleep soundly and wake restored and refreshed. A consultation helps us as we navigate some of life’s biggest losses, stresses and challenges.
And while I’m on the subject let’s discuss what to look for in a consultant. An ethical practitioner will not scare the shit out of you saying that you’re gonna lose a loved one if you don’t pay them for 3 extra sessions, in which they’ll conduct healings and all will be well. Goodness knows those things are all over the internet! Readers who claim they can give you spells to bind and keep a man or a woman, those exist too. Bogus!!! Don’t fall for it. It’s a form of spiritual harassment and you don’t need to empty your wallet out of fear.
Yes, a good consultant may share some unpleasant things with you in your reading, maybe you’re going through some challenging planetary transits but they won’t tell you you’re screwed. The Universe is Kind and Loving, people aren’t always kind and loving, but the Universe is, so remember that, even when bad shit happens the Universe isn’t out to get you. An ethical consultant knows this and will help you see what you need to LEARN from a situation, but doesn’t tell you it’s all your fault and karma is out to kick your ass. And if they do that, you need to run like hell away from them! And lastly, a good practitioner doesn’t try to run your life, they offer suggestions, sometimes very strong suggestions, but they don’t try to dictate your life for you. You are in charge of yourself and a reading should empower you not diminish you or make you afraid. Remember, your consultant is a guide, choose wisely.
